We believe that everyone who needs help with financial planning, investment management, taxes and/or business accounting deserves a service provider they know and can trust. We are experienced professionals, committed to our community, who combine asset management, tax preparation and comprehensive financial planning to offer a complete package of financial services for individuals, families, and businesses.
We’re New Englanders. Our business takes inspiration from the Marble Trail, the geological corridor of western Vermont whose marble comprises walkways, buildings and monuments throughout the country. And like the Marble Trail, we began in Vermont and have spread through New England, with bases in Vermont and Maine.
As registered investment advisors, certified public accountants, and enrolled agents we are held, and we hold ourselves, to a higher fiduciary standard: to act in the best interest of each client, in every interaction. We’re a small firm, which allows us to work closely with every client, and it means we can consistently deliver high-quality, personalized service — the kind that earns trust, and rewards it.

Don founded Addison Advisors, now called Marble Trail Advisors, in 2010 with a goal of bringing to clients a level of advice and service previously available only to the ultra-wealthy. Don works with clients as individuals, providing personalized and holistic solutions to achieving their financial goals. He also serves as the firm's Chief Compliance Officer. Before founding Addison Advisors, he worked in senior financial positions at both public and private corporations, and he brings much of that experience to solving problems for clients who own their own businesses. Don graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, and earned an MBA in Finance from Cornell University.
Don was raised here in Middlebury and has a large extended family in the area that keeps him quite busy. He enjoys golf, following the Georgetown Hoyas, and spending time with his wife and his daughter, who is now in college. He has served as a director for a number of area non-profits and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Opera Company of Middlebury. His interests are primarily aspirational – his golf game only occasionally resembles the sport he enjoys watching, his basketball skills are non-existent, and he cannot sing. At all.
Matt brings more than 20 years of financial service experience to Marble Trail. He works as a trusted partner to his clients, helping them achieve their financial goals through sound investment management and financial planning. His deep commitment to understanding his clients’ values helps Matt align each individual’s personal needs to the complexities of the financial world.
Preceding his career in financial services, Matt spent five years in Nicaragua serving as a Peace Corps volunteer and as a manager of a nonprofit organization. During this period he worked to help farmers increase their income and improve their standard of living by converting from conventional to organic and sustainable agriculture. Matt received a B.A. from Dickinson College and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
Founder and Managing Partner of Misasi & Company (2003), Steve opened his initial office in Dorset, Vermont and expanded the business with the addition of a Middlebury, Vermont office in 2006. Steven has been a certified public accountant for more than 35 years and is a graduate of Bryant University (College at that time) with a B.A. in Accounting.
Prior to setting up his own firm, Steven spent over 20 years in the New York/New Jersey area working for small to mid-sized public accounting firms and in corporate accounting with a large prescription benefit management company. Much of the experience gained during this time was in assisting small to mid-sized businesses with their accounting and tax needs and in the acquisition and sale of small businesses and business segments of larger companies.

Lela grew up in New Jersey, but came to Vermont for college, attending St. Michael’s College for Philosophy. After several years of moving around the country seasonally, Lela returned to Vermont to work at the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, first as a Park Ranger, and then moving into the office and ultimately becoming Business Manager. It was here that Lela’s love for numbers showed itself, and back to classes she went, taking classes to allow her to sit the CPA exam, and becoming licensed in 2006. After many years working in public accounting, Lela got tired of having to refer clients out when they were looking for financial planning services, and again returned to classes to enable her to sit the CFP® exam and attained that designation in 2019. Lela is thrilled to have found Marble Trail, where the integration of financial planning and taxes provides wholistic financial assistance to clients. Outside of the office, Lela likes being active and outdoors. One of her proudest accomplishments is that she and her teenage daughter backpacked the entire Vermont Long Trail over two summers. She lives in Bolton, Vermont, surrounded by the mountains, and spends many hours outside wandering off trail, or running the backroads to train for half marathons.

Skylar grew up in the Middlebury area. After attending Colorado College, he returned to Vermont and got two degrees from Champlain College; Computer Networking and Applied Psychology. After an AmeriCorps stint in Montana, he put his psychology degree to use selling and delivering adventure-based corporate team building events all around the country. Around this, Skylar indulged his avid reading habits by working locally at the Vermont Book Shop. When the constant travel became tiresome, Skylar sought to set down roots in Vermont. Beth Davis, one of the founders at Marble Trail Financial, offered to train Skylar in tax preparation and bookkeeping. After working in the field for a couple years, Skylar attained his Enrolled Agent status with the IRS. A couple years later, he fulfilled the requirements to become licensed as a financial advisor. Spanning both tax and investments allows Skylar to fit well with the comprehensive services Marble Trail Financial strives to provide. Outside of the office, Skylar likes being active and outdoors.
